  • Fairy Tale Delight: "The Magical Symphony of Peter and the Wolf"

This fall, embark on a creative journey with our exciting art classes designed for children aged 8-12. The semester kicks off with a magical exploration of Sergei Prokofiev's symphonic tale, "Peter and the Wolf," written in 1936. Children will immerse themselves in the enchanting story by listening to the symphony and then bringing it to life through art. They will design posters for the performance and create their own shadow puppets. Once their puppets are ready, they will craft and perform their unique narratives inspired by the tale.

  • Ancient Greece: Pottery, Fashion, and Theatrical Masks

In the next segment, young artists will travel back in time to Ancient Greece. They will learn about the rich history of Greek pottery, fashion, and theatrical masks. Children will design and paint their own vases using paint and blackliner pens, drawing inspiration from ancient Greek art. They will also explore Greek fashion by sketching dresses and costumes from that era. Additionally, they will delve into the world of Greek theater by creating their own paper masks, inspired by the dramatic masks of ancient Greek plays.

  • Architectural Adventures

The final block of lessons will introduce children to the fascinating world of architecture. They will learn various ways to represent the interior of a house, including elevation, roof plan, section, and floor plan. Using these skills, they will create blueprints for their dream house. The young architects will then bring their designs to life by building a layout of their dream room or house out of cardboard.

Join us for a semester filled with creativity, learning, and fun as we explore the magical world of art and history!
